Today however, we will shine light on the eastern part of Rio – The Regiao do Lagos or the Region of the Lakes. The beaches of the Lagos Region, have been among the Cariocas’ favorites especially for a weekend getaway. You can find a variety of charming inns, restaurants, gastronomic experiences but most impressively, you’ll find sensational beaches that will leave you mesmerized.

The main beaches in the region of the lakes are Buzios, Cabo Frio and Arraial do Cabo. While Arraial do Cabo is famous for its multicolored sea and diving spots, it’s also quite popular for its sunset point and beautiful landscapes. Buzios, on the other hand, is known for its enchanting inns, cuisines, nightlife and calm beaches whereas Cabo Frio is an attraction for its beautiful architecture, white sand beaches and of course the sublime life.
